A Tour of Duty records Wattie Stirling’s wartime experiences 1941-45, from leaving Waikaia, Southland, as a raw recruit in the RNZAF followed by his training and time as an instructor in Canada up to the final days of WWII in Europe. The last months were spent as a pilot and captain of an RAF Avro Lancaster bomber in 115 Squadron.
